Dona Lucilia’s affection for others was modelled upon the Sacred Heart of Jesus; the result of this affection was abnegation and the renunciation of herself in favour of the person loved.
In a very balanced and Catholic manner, she considered devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, King and centre of all hearts, as the very centre and perfect model of all affection. In other words, to love must be as the Heart of Jesus loves each one of us; to be devoted to Him is to love Him with a love that is an image – in due proportion – of the love He has for us.
Herein lies devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which thus completes the process, the trajectory, the entire circuit of the human soul.
