Mozambique – In its Afternoon Journal, the public television network TVM presented a report on the Heralds of the Gospel, and on the catechetical Nativity scene displayed in their house in Matola. Fr. Santiago Canals, EP, was called upon to explain to viewers the charism and history of the association, as well as its activities in Mozambique.
Ecuador – During the Christmas season, missionaries from the Heralds of the Gospel took to the streets of Cuenca and surrounding districts for the “Faith and Charity ” campaign. Basic supply packages, clothing and toys were distributed to over two hundred and fifty needy residents of these areas.
Spain – On December 13, members of the Heralds gathered at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar, in Zaragoza, to participate in the longstanding Mass in Thanksgiving, and to make a floral offering to the Blessed Virgin in gratitude for the benefits received throughout the year.
Brazil – Members of St. Paul the Apostle Community, one of the thirteen making up the Parish of Our Lady of Graces, confided by the Diocese of Bragança Paulista to the care of the Heralds, carried an image of the Child Jesus to homes in the area, providing an opportunity for prayer and personal contact.
El Salvador – With the support of A Future for El Salvador Foundation, Herald missionaries distributed Christmas gifts to children of the region, at the site where a new church is being constructed in honour of Our Lady of Fatima. To avoid numerous gatherings, the distribution was carried out in two separate sessions.
Colombia – In partnership with the City Council of El Retiro, and joining their efforts with Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, Herald cooperators distributed presents to the children of this municipality, while students from the Herald’s School in Medellin offered a concert of Christmas music.
