El Salvador – A ceremony of Consecration to the Blessed Virgin carried out at St. Helen’s Parish in the city of Antiguo Cuscatlán was attended by two hundred persons, along with six hundred who participated via internet. Faithful from several countries including the US, Mexico, Pakistan, France, and Germany were united in the event, presided over by Fr. Gonzalo Raymundo Esteban, EP.
Italy – On January 31, thirty people made their Consecration to Jesus through Mary Most Holy following the method of St. Louis de Montfort, in the church of San Benedetto in Piscinula, Rome. Participants prepared for their solemn act of self-giving under the orientation of Fr. Inácio Almeida, EP.
Dominican Republic – The Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception was commemorated with great joy and splendour by the Heralds of the Gospel in Santo Domingo. Over 150 persons took part in the Mass which, due to the pandemic, was celebrated in the sports stadium of Our Lady of Altagracia School.
Brazil – The Sacrament of Confirmation was conferred in the Oratory of Our Lady of Fatima adjacent to the house of the Heralds of the Gospel in Nova Friburgo (Rio State), on January 31. Diocesan Bishop Luiz Antônio Lopes Ricci presided over the celebration, in which fifteen persons received this Sacrament from his hands.
Mozambique – Visits are frequently made to homes of the Matola area, a city in the vicinity of Maputo where the Heralds of the Gospel’s house is located. During these missions, carried out by Fr. Santiago Canals, EP, and other missionaries of the Association, residences are blessed and medals of the Blessed Virgin are distributed.
Guatemala – On December 15, Fr. Javier Pérez Beltrán, EP, officially blessed the statue of Our Lady of Fatima erected outside Roosevelt Hospital, as a beacon of support and protection for those who pass through its doors. The ceremony marked the 65th anniversary of the hospital’s foundation.
Peru – On February 8, cooperators of the Heralds of the Gospel of the city of Piura invited a priest from St. Francis Parish in nearby Querecotillo to accompany them on a visit through the Covid ward of Sullana Hospital, carrying the Blessed Sacrament. Hours later, more than 40 patients were declared fit to be discharged from the hospital.
Ecuador – On Ash Wednesday, Fr. Marlon Jiménez Calderón, EP, distributed ashes to the faithful at a Mass celebrated at the Heralds’ house in Cuenca. The number of participants in the ceremony was limited in accordance with current national health guidelines.
Brazil – Participants in “Mary Queen of All Hearts” Shrine Apostolate from the city of Suzano (SP) met at Good Shepherd Parish to celebrate with joy and devotion the Feast of the Chair of St. Peter, which coincided with the 20th anniversary of the pontifical approval of the Heralds.
Portugal – With the goal of fostering moments of prayer and meditation, the Heralds are daily transmitting the Masses, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and other community acts carried out in the houses of Portugal. They also offer catechesis and online courses on the apparitions of Fatima and a variety of other subjects.
Spain: Retreats and Evangelizing Activities
O ur Lady of Covadonga Shrine was the location chosen by the Herald cooperators from the Asturias region for their annual retreat, which they concluded before of the statue of the Patroness, called “La Santina”, in the historic cave of Don Pelayo (photo 1). The cooperators from Valencia, with the help of the Herald sisters in Madrid, prepared a group of faithful from the Parish of St. Raymond Nonnatus, in Paiporta, to make their solemn Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary (photo 2). On the Saturday after Ash Wednesday, a day of recollection and spiritual exercises was held (photo 3). Also during Lent a retreat day for cooperators, based on the teachings of St. Ignatius of Loyola, was offered in the Heralds’ house in Camarenilla. There were plenty of priests to hear Confessions (photo 4), and opportunities for Adoration (photo 5).
