Paraguay – Well-attended concerts in honour of the Child Jesus were held at various churches in this country, including the Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary of Luque (photo 1), the Military Vicariate (photo 2) and the Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Encarnación. Also during Christmas time, a statue of the Christ Child was carried to the bedsides of the sick at the Social Healthcare Institute (photo 3) and presents were distributed to children at the University Hospital (photo 4) and at the same Social Healthcare Institute (photo 5).
Nicaragua – Yet another Mary Queen of Hearts Shrine began to circulate within the boundaries of St. Peter’s Parish, in the Diocese of Juigalpa, joining the fifteen already active in the region. The shrine was blessed during a Mass celebrated by Msgr. Carlos Adán, the pastor of St. Peter’s and the vicar-general of the diocese.
Portugal – To commemorate the birth of God made Man, the Heralds organized Masses and concerts throughout the country. Besides the ceremonies in Bragança and Guimarães reported in the February edition, there were Eucharistic Celebrations at the Basilica of Sameiro (Braga), presided over by Canon José Paulo Abreu (photos 1 and 2); at the Church of the Blessed Trinity (Porto), presided over by diocesan Bishop Manuel Linda (photos 3 and 4); and at the Parish of St. John of Brito (Lisbon), presided over by the Counsellor of the Apostolic Nunciature, Msgr. Gian Luca Perici (photo 5).
Guatemala – On the day of the Kings, Herald missionaries distributed over a thousand presents to the children of Puerta Negra Hamlet (photo 2) and the San José Residential district, just outside San José Pinula. A week later, an additional four hundred items, including toys, clothes, food staples and school supplies were delivered to the El Platanar Village (photo 1).
Vitória (Brazil) – On January 1, 2022, the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, the First Saturday devotion was held in the metropolitan cathedral of this capital city of Espírito Santo State. Mass was celebrated by Emeritus Archbishop of Mariana, Geraldo Lyrio Rocha. The pastor of the cathedral, Fr. Renato Criste Covre, and Fr. Cristian Bitencourt, EP, concelebrated.
Piraquara (Brazil) – The Sisters of the feminine sector of the Heralds of the Gospel performed a Christmas concert at the Mary and Joseph Educational Centre run by the Passionists, carrying a statue of the Christ Child. At the end of the presentation, goodies were distributed to the children.
Bragança Paulista (Brazil) – Invited by the parish priest of St. Lucy Church, located in the district of the same name, a musical ensemble made up of members of the feminine sector of the Heralds of the Gospel presented a concert in honour of the Child Jesus, touching the audience with the grace of Christmas.
Spain – Approximately seventy members of the faithful consecrated themselves to Jesus through the hands of Mary in the Parish of Holy Mary of Grace in Barcelona (photos 5 and 6); and over a hundred people made the same consecration in the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, in Madrid (photos 1 to 4).
Spain – St. Anthony Mary Claret Parish, in Cartagena (photo 1); in the Basilica-Shrine of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, members and cooperators of the Heralds offered musical presentations to honour the Divine Infant in Gijón (photo 2); in the Basilica of St. Genesius, in Madrid (photo 3); and in many other churches throughout the country.
