Events in Colombia
The final months of 2022 were the occasion for various gatherings under the protection of the Blessed Virgin, in cities of Colombia.
The First Priestly Encounter with Mary, held at the house of the Heralds of the Gospel in Bogotá, was attended by nineteen priests coming from various Colombian dioceses. The closing Mass was presided over by Bishop Héctor Cubillos Peña of the Zipaquirá diocese, and concelebrated by all the participants of the event. In addition, the Church of Our Lady of Fatima in Tocancipá hosted the convention of consecrated life of the Episcopal Vicariate of San Pedro, and Marian congresses were held in the cities of Bucaramanga, Pasto and Ibagué.
Ecuador – The Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary visited Marie Clarac School in the city of Quito on January 11. There was a crowning of the statue of the Blessed Virgin and a musical performance for the students.
Colombia – On January 20, the Rafael Reyes Police Academy, located in the city of Santa Rosa de Viterbo, commemorated its 49th anniversary with a Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Diego Cubides Umba, EP. In December, the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary visited the Metropolitan Police Command of Aburrá Valley, in Medellin, and was crowned by General Carlos Humberto Rojas Pabón and his
distinguished wife.
Spain – The Heralds of the Gospel cooperators of this country participated in the Fourth National Congress, held at the institution’s house in Toledo last November 26 and 27. On January 5 of this year, several families had the joy of receiving the visit of the Magi Kings, who made a surprise appearance at the Heralds’ house in Sevilla la Nueva, after the celebration of Mass on the Solemnity of the Epiphany. On the following day, a Communion in reparation ceremony was held for the first Saturday of the month, in the church of St. Isidore, in Madrid.
Paraguay – Great was the joy of these Paraguayan children to receive gifts from the hands of the Magi Kings, at Mother of Good Counsel Church in Ypacaraí. The distribution of toys took place on January 8, on the occasion of the Solemnity of the Epiphany.
Mexico – Standing out among the different activities carried out on Mexican soil was the Communion of reparation ceremony held in December on the first Saturday of the month, in accordance with Our Lady’s request in Fatima, at the Basilica of St. Joseph and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart.
Italy – The Heralds of the Gospel added a cerimonious note to the traditional procession of the Immaculate Conception in Gambare, Mira, held on December 8th. On this occasion, Vespers were also recited and Holy Mass celebrated at the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist.
Mozambique – On the occasion of Christmas, a group of members of the Heralds of the Gospel from this African country visited House of Joy, run by the Missionaries of Charity in Maputo, in order to offer a musical performance there for the children and elderly residents of the institution.
Brazil – Children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability receiving assistance at Mother Roselli House in the city of Nova Friburgo had an enjoyable visit at the end of 2022 from the female sector of the Heralds of the Gospel, who performed a musical concert for them.
Guatemala – At the end of 2022, the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary visited the municipality of San Juan La Laguna, and was fervently received by Fr. Jorge Luis Argue and the faithful.
Mairiporã (Brazil) – On December 21 and 22, an image of the Child Jesus visited the families residing in the vicinity of St. Paul’s Chapel, which is part of Our Lady of Graces Parish.
