Italy â Yet another Marian Mission was held in Venosa, from May 25 to 28. The Heralds also participated in the traditional St. Anthony procession in Padua, and a new group of the faithful consecrated themselves to Our Lady in the Church of San Benedetto in Piscinula, Rome, on the occasion of the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, celebrated on June 17.
United States â Homes within the boundaries of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, in the city of Pomona, California, received the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary during the Marian Mission carried out there. The closing Mass was well attended by the faithful.
Ecuador â The Pilgrim Statue also visited the city of AncĂłn, in the Province of Santa Elena. The activities during the days of the mission included Eucharistic Celebrations, processions, visits to the sick and catechetical meetings. Diocesan Bishop Guido IvĂĄn Minda ChalĂĄ presided over the closing Mass.
Guatemala
Benefit dinner â A benefit dinner to raise funds for the construction of the new Heraldsâ church in Guatemala City was held at the Westin Camino Real Hotel on May 22, with the institutionâs choir embellishing the event. Present at the dinner was Archbishop Francisco Montecillo Padilla, Apostolic Nuncio to Guatemala, who encouraged attendees to continue supporting the project.
Construction of a new church â The opening Mass for the construction of the new church, which will be dedicated to Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, was celebrated on June 11 by Bishop Tulio Omar PĂ©rez Rivera, Auxiliary of Santiago de Guatemala, who also blessed the property.
Visits to schools â In the month of May, the Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, carried by the female sector of the Heralds of the Gospel, visited various educational institutions in the Guatemalan capital. Worthy of note were the visits made at St. Mary of Montesclaros, Bethany and Evelyn Rogers Schools.
Pilgrimage with the Virgin of Fatima â In June, the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary brought hope and comfort to the sick and staff of the Nove de Julho Oncological Hospital, in the Brazilian city of Juiz de Fora, and to the elderly at the Garden Ville Geriatric Residence, in Curitiba, Brazil, where a crowning of Our Lady took place and everyone was able to enjoy a musical performance presented by the young Heralds. The Statue of the Blessed Virgin also visited two health care centres in Peru: the Regional Institute of Neoplastic Diseases, in the city of Trujillo, and the Regional Hospital of Lambayeque, in Chiclayo.
Mozambique â The International Day of the African Child, June 16, was celebrated with great joy at the St. Joseph Quasi-Parish, in Matola-Gare. In addition to participating in the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. ArĂŁo Mazive, EP, the children enjoyed a period of recreation, with games and a tasty snack.
Caieiras (Brazil) â On April 27, the new Bachelors in Theology gratuated from the program of St. Thomas Aquinas Theological Institute, affiliated with the Pontifical Bolivarian University (UPB), in Medellin, Colombia. Fr. CĂ©sar Augusto RamĂrez Giraldo, director of the Faculty of Theology at UPB, presided over the ceremony, followed by a thanksgiving Mass celebrated by Fr. Diego Alberto Uribe CastrillĂłn, responsible for the affiliations of the same faculty.
Sacrament of Confirmation â Young people and adults prepared by the Heralds of the Gospel received the Sacrament of Confirmation in ceremonies presided over by the Most Rev. MĂĄrio AntĂŽnio da Silva, Archbishop of CuiabĂĄ, in the capital of Mato Grosso, Brazil, by Bishop SĂ©rgio Aparecido Colombo, of Bragança Paulista diocese, in the Brazilian city of MairiporĂŁ, and by Bishop Faustino Burgos Brisman, Auxiliary of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
MaringĂĄ (Brazil) â Abundant graces were poured out on the participants of the Afternoon with Mary held at the house of the Heralds of the Gospel in MaringĂĄ, on May 27. Fr. Ricardo JosĂ© Basso, EP, was present for the event, based on the theme: âMary loves me!
