Inauguration of Pipe Organ
On September 21, the pipe organ of Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary in Caieiras (SP), was inaugurated during a solemn Eucharistic concelebration. Following the homily was the blessing of the instrument – which is equipped with 48 registers, three keyboards and 3,190 pipes –, with the sprinkling of Holy Water, incensing and an “awakening” ceremony, in which the organ, which had been silent until then, resounded for the first time in the sacred space.
After the Holy Mass, attendees enjoyed an inaugural concert, featuring three organists: Sr. Priscilla Stephanie Lourenço Cerqueira, EP, and the couple, Mrs. Kirsten Schweimler-Kreienbrink and Mr. Joachim Kreienbrink, owners of Kreienbrink Orgelmanufaktur, the company responsible for the construction and installation of the organ.
Colombia – Between September 23 and 25, thirty-two priests from various regions of the country participated in the third Marian Priestly Encounter, held at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima in Tocancipá. The conferences, which focused on the theme “In persona Christi et totus Mariæ”, were given by Fr. Felipe de Azevedo Ramos, EP. The encounter was also attended by Bishop Héctor Cubillos Peña of Zipaquirá. During the same month, members of the of Mary, Queen of All Hearts Shrine Apostolate met at the aforementioned church for another national encounter.
Brasilia – Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish, located in Cidade Estrutural, Federal District, celebrated the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 14 with an open-air Mass. The solemn Eucharist was attended by countless faithful, who were able to venerate a fragment of the true Cross of Christ, carried in a beautiful reliquary.
Peru – A varied programme, concluding with Mass, marked the celebration of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 14 on the grounds of the future Marian centre of the Heralds, in the Asia District. Days earlier, the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary had visited the Mother of Good Counsel School in Piura.
