New Consecrations to Our Lady
During the month of March, new groups of devotees of the Blessed Virgin made personal consecrations to her as slaves of love, according to the method of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort.
These sessions were made up of Spanish-speaking faithful who had completed the course of Fr. Manuel Rodríguez Sancho, EP, on the Reconquest Catholic Formation Platform run by the Heralds of the Gospel, as well as some residents in Portugal.
Among the various in-person ceremonies were those in the cities of Porto and Guimarães, Portugal; Montreal, Canada; Miami, Los Angeles and Garden Grove (CA), United States; Mexico City and Puebla, Mexico; Tocancipá and El Retiro, Colombia; Quito and Cuenca, Ecuador; Lima, Callao and Ica, Peru; as well as in the countries of Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.
Canada – As part of commemorations for the 400th anniversary of the consecration of the country to St. Joseph, the Heralds of the Gospel held a concert honouring the Glorious Patriarch on March 21. The event took place in St. Paul’s Basilica in Toronto. Guest of honour was Most Rev. Robert Kasun, CSB, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Toronto.
United States – Our Lady of the Rosary of Talpa Parish in Los Angeles gave an enthusiastic welcome to the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary during the Marian Mission held there in March. After the Holy Mass, pastor and parishioners made their consecration to the Blessed Virgin according to the method of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort.
Mexico – During the month of March, devotees of Our Lady in Mexico City gathered in Club España for another “Day with Mary”. The event included a crowning of the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, lectures, the recitation of the Rosary and Holy Mass. Throughout the day, priests were on hand to attend the faithful in Confession.
Recife (Brazil) – On March 12, anniversary of the capital of the State of Pernambuco, the city chamber paid solemn homage to the Heralds of the Gospel for the 23rd anniversary of the institution’s pontifical approval, as well as for their missionary work in the city.
Spain – On January 21, a Mass was celebrated in the parish Church of St. Teresa of Avila and St. Joseph, in Madrid, in honour of St. Benedict, after which medals of this holy patriarch of the West were blessed. And from February 23 to 25, cooperators of the Heralds of the Gospel of Spain gathered in the house of the institution in Camarenilla, for their 6th National Congress. The intermissions between the Eucharistic Celebrations were marked by blessed moments of fellowship.
Dominican Republic – Faithful from across the country gathered for the annual pilgrimage at the Shrine of Our Lady of Altagracia, in the city of Higüey. After a recitation of the Rosary in the Church of St. Dionysius, which houses the original portrait of the Patroness, the pilgrims headed to the basilica for the celebration of Holy Mass.
Mairiporã (Brazil) – Residents from around the Church of St. Jude and St. Agnes Chapel, in Our Lady of Graces Parish, received visits from the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and the blessings of the Church for their families and their homes in the month of March.
Guatemala – On February 22, the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was taken through the various wards of the Hospital of the Social Security Institute of Guatemala, in Guatemala City, bringing comfort and hope to patients, medical teams and other staff. A decade of the Rosary was prayed in each wing of the health centre.
