St. Helen found the True Cross, an event surrounded by miracles and special favours from God. It is the Holy Wood, from which relics have been distributed for veneration by the faithful throughout the world.
What a glory it is for this woman to have been, at the same time, the mother of the first Christian emperor and the one who excavated the True Cross from the bowels of the earth, with all the spiritual benefits deriving from that discovery!
A matron of elevated spirit and broad horizons, she comprehended things from their most sublime and far-reaching aspects and, owing to this spiritual breadth, she transformed an empire and gave the world the immensely great gift of the True Cross of Christ.
