Msgr. JoĂŁo Receives the Tiradentes Medal

On August 19, the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro State awarded Msgr. JoĂŁo Scognamiglio ClĂĄ Dias, founder of the Heralds of the Gospel, the Tiradentes Medal, the highest honour of this legislative body, granted to individuals and entities that have rendered important services to the public cause. The solemn session, presided over by Deputy Alan Lopes, was held in the Barbosa Lima Sobrinho Plenary Hall, in Tiradentes Palace, and began with the enthronement of the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Belo Horizonte – The Belo Horizonte City Council granted Fr. AntĂŽnio Guerra de Oliveira JĂșnior, EP, the title of Honorary Citizen of the capital of Minas Gerais on August 20. The solemn assembly was held in the Amintas de Barros Plenary Hall and began with the crowning of the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary by Councilman Wagner Messias, who presided over the session. After the bestowal of the title, those in attendance watched a video tribute paid to Fr. Guerra by several ministers of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Supreme Federal Court and the Federal Court of Auditors, as well as by Governor Romeu Zema.


 

National Pilgrimage to Aparecida – From August 9-10, members of the Apostolate of the Shrine of Mary, Queen of Hearts made their 14th National Pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Aparecida. The Blessed Virgin granted abundant blessings during the luminous procession, the recitation of the Rosary and the celebration of the Solemn Mass, presided over by Bishop Benedito Beni dos Santos, Emeritus of Lorena, which began with the enthronement of the statue of the Patroness of Brazil.


 

Afternoon with Mary – Eager to spend time with Our Lady and to learn more about her, devotees already consecrated as slaves of love to the Blessed Virgin through the Reconquest Catholic Training Platform course gathered for an “Afternoon with Mary” at the Heralds’ houses in the Brazilian cities of MaringĂĄ (PR) on June 29, and Fortaleza (CE) on August 24. Both programmes were graced with the presence of Fr. Ricardo JosĂ© Basso, EP.
