All for Mary
A fter completing the consecration course offered by the Reconquest Catholic Formation Platform, new groups recently made their solemn surrender as slaves of love to Mary, according to the method of St. Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort.
In Brazil, there were in-person ceremonies in the cities of Manaus, Belém, Fortaleza, Moreno (Pernambuco), Lauro de Freitas (Bahia), Brasilia, Cuiabá, Campo Grande, Cariacica (Espírito Santo), Joinville (Santa Catarina); Belo Horizonte, Juiz de Fora and Montes Claros, in Minas Gerais; Maringá, Ponta Grossa and Piraquara, in Paraná; São Paulo, Caieiras, Cotia, São Carlos, Ubatuba, in São Paulo state; Rio de Janeiro, Nova Friburgo, Campos dos Goytacazes and Miracema, in Rio de Janeiro state. Ceremonies were also held in Portugal, Spain, Canada, U.S., Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay, Argentina and Uruguay.
Portugal – On October 12, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Sameiro, in Braga, 1,100 members of the Shrine Apostolate of Mary Queen of All Hearts gathered for yet another regional convention. The Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was solemnly crowned during the event, and those taking part consecrated themselves as slaves of love to the Blessed Virgin.
Caieiras (Brazil) – To commemorate the 15th anniversary of the founding of Our Lady of Grace Parish, numerous faithful gathered at Our Lady of the Rosary Basilica, in Caieiras, for a solemn Eucharistic Celebration, presided over by Most Rev. Sérgio Aparecido Colombo, Bishop of Bragança Paulista, followed by a procession with biers of the patron saints of the various churches, oratories and chapels that comprise the parish.
Dominican Republic – Throughout the month of October, sisters of the Heralds of the Gospel carried out a large-scale Marian mission. The Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary visited parishes, primary and secondary schools and universities, hospitals, nursing homes, religious houses, residences, shopping centres and radio stations, in the cities of Santo Domingo, Bonao, La Vega, Punta Cana, Jarabacoa, Santiago and Barahona.
Italy – The Church of Madonna della Salute, in the commune of Massa Lubrense, Province of Naples, opened its doors to receive the visit of the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, from October 17 to 20. Eucharistic celebrations, recitation of the Rosary, catechesis and visits to religious communities and to the sick marked the mission days.
Paraguay – Numerous members of the faithful gathered at the Paseo de la Galeria event hall, in Asunción, for a tribute to the Immaculate Heart of Mary held on October 20, which included a conference by Fr. Manuel Rodríguez Sancho, EP. Another blessed event was the Mass marking the last apparition of the Blessed Virgin in Fatima, celebrated in the metropolitan cathedral on October 13.
Colombia – During the month of October, the cooperators of the Heralds of the Gospel gathered for a national meeting, on the theme “Revolution in the Tendencies”. In September, members of the Heralds participated in the procession in honour of Our Lady of Sorrows in Entrerríos, Antioquia, and many of the faithful gathered at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, in Tocancipá, to receive the badge that designates those who have made their consecration to the Blessed Virgin.
Afternoons with Mary – With the aim of providing deeper knowledge regarding the perfections of the Blessed Virgin, “Afternoons with Mary” were held during the month of October especially for those who have already consecrated themselves to her as slaves of love, in the cities of Cariacica and Rio de Janeiro, with the presence of Fr. Ricardo José Basso, EP. Fr. Ricardo also preached a retreat for couples in São Paulo.
Sacrament of Confirmation – Solemn Masses with the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation were celebrated in Our Lady of Fatima Church in Tocancipá, Colombia, by Most Rev. Héctor Cubillos Peña, Bishop of Zipaquirá; at the Heralds’ church under construction in Maputo, by Archbishop Luís Miguel Muñoz Cárdaba, Apostolic Nuncio to Mozambique; and in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Juiz de Fora (Brazil), by Metropolitan Archbishop Gil Antônio Moreira.
