In Expectation of a New Insight

Men praise the memory of those who have marked the past in different ways: they dedicate schools, streets or monuments to them, and they write works about them… And yet, what is all the world’s glory worth in the face of a eulogy from God? For example, regarding John the Baptist Jesus said that “among those born of women” (Lk 7:28) none was greater than he!

Now, how does the Most High exalt someone destined to mark the future? By revealing something about him that makes a deep impression in the minds of all. So the Eternal Father did for His Only-begotten Son, through a voice from Heaven: “This is My beloved Son; listen to Him” (Mk 9:7). This form of praise only God can give.

It is customary among sacred authors to associate historical eras with the Persons of the Blessed Trinity: the Old Testament is associated with the Father, the New Testament with the Son, and a future period of special glorification of God and Mary with the Holy Spirit.

The outset of each of these ages is marked by a revelation. Thus, in the Old Testament God manifested Himself as the First and Final Cause, the one and only Author of all things, the provident, just, and merciful Father. To inaugurate the New Testament, the Son made Himself known to the world as Saviour, Redeemer, and Mediator. And it is established opinion among theologians that the Kingdom of the Holy Spirit will open with a new clarification, a new insight regarding the “Great Unknown” – one which, although contained in Revelation, remains hidden beneath the veils of mystery and has therefore never been truly understood by men until today. This insight will mark future centuries and so change the course of history that a new civilization will be founded as a result.

Now, as the Holy Spirit is the Divine Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and given the lofty perfection of the bond that unites them, His glorification cannot be envisioned without His desiring the glorification of His Spouse. Thus, there are grounds to hope that the marvels worked by grace with a view to the establishment of the Reign of Mary will have as their central element the exaltation of Our Lady, in a way that no one could have imagined.

Moreover, God generally intervenes at those moments when everything seems to be lost, heeding the pleas of those who, amidst the most devastating trials, refuse to forsake their hope. It matters little if they are few and feeble, provided they are faithful; the harder the trial has been, the greater will be the subsequent glorification, for the Lord avails himself of the devil’s own devices to vanquish and humiliate him all the more.

Therefore, the exaltation of Mary prepared by God will be a vengeance that is humiliating in a magnitude proportionate to that of the hatred satan has always borne Her. The Almighty leaves nothing unpunished and avenges His own for every wrong done to them.
