In Praise of the Eucharistic Jesus
S plendid Masses and crowded processions marked the Solemnity of Corpus Christi in places where the Heralds of the Gospel are active. The photos highlight ceremonies held in Brazil, at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima in Cotia (SP); at the Parish of Our Lady of Fátima, in Franco da Rocha (SP); and in the Heralds’ oratories in the cities of Maringá (PR) and São Carlos (SP); in Paraguay, at Asuncion Cathedral, with the presence of the Metropolitan Archbishop, Cardinal Adalberto Martínez Flores, and in the Basilica of Our Lady of Miracles in Caacupé, with the presence of Diocesan Bishop Jorge Valenzuela Ríos, and in the Parish of St. Isidore the Farmer in Limpio, a parish recently entrusted to the Heralds of Paraguay; and in Peru, at the Air Force Officer School, Las Palmas Air Base of Lima.
Spain – The Heralds of the Gospel performed several musical presentations in Spain. The concerts took place at the Royal Basilica of St. Francis the Great, at the Church of St. Firmin of the Navarrese, and at the Collegiate Church of St. Isidore, during the ceremony of the first Saturday of the month, in Madrid; as well as in the municipality of Cuarte de Huerva, Province of Zaragoza. While in the Spanish capital, the Heralds were able to greet Pope Leo XIV on his apostolic journey.
Paraguay – To the music provided by the Paraguayan Heralds of the Gospel, the ceremony marking the start of construction of the monument to the country’s Patroness, Our Lady of the Assumption, took place in the Paraguayan capital. The event was attended by the Metropolitan Archbishop, Cardinal Adalberto Martínez Flores, the Apostolic Nuncio to Paraguay, Archbishop Vincenzo Turturro, the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña Palacios, along with members of the presidential cabinet. In May, members of the Heralds of the Gospel enlivened the celebrations for the Patrons of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Parish and of Holy Spirit Parish in Asuncion.
Guatemala – On May 27, another benefit dinner was held to support the construction of the Heralds’ oratory in San José Pinula, which was attended by Archbishop Francisco Montecillo Padilla, Apostolic Nuncio to the country. In the same month, the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary visited St. Mary of Montesclaros School and Unicar Hospital, both in Guatemala City.
Italy – On May 27, the Heralds were entrusted with the prayer vigil and Liturgy for the novena to the Madonna of the Letter, Patroness of Messina. In the same month, there was a Marian mission at St. Nicholas Parish in Squillace Lido, and in Venice, on the occasion of the visit of St. Bernadette Soubirous’ relics to the Church of San Salvatore, a procession was held in honour of Our Lady of Lourdes, with the presence of Bishop Edoardo Aldo Cerrato, CO, Emeritus of Ivrea.
Ecuador – During the month of May, Our Lady of Fatima bestowed her blessings upon the Archdiocesan Altar Servers Rally and the Jacarandá Educative Centre in Guayaquil. During the same period, thirteen children received their First Communion at the St. Mary of the Plains Church in Cuenca.
Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) – The largest warship in Latin America, the Atlântico, was consecrated, together with her crew, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on May 28, during a Holy Mass celebrated aboard the vessel, while anchored at the Navy Arsenal in Rio de Janeiro.
São Carlos (Brazil) – On May 30 and 31, a blessed Marian mission was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish. In addition to the visit of the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to parishioners’ homes, there was a candlelight procession through the city streets and a Eucharistic Celebration.
Bragança Paulista (Brazil) – Heralds of the Gospel clergy and cooperators visited the sick at St. Francis University Hospital on June 19, administering the Sacraments and blessings of the Holy Church to them, and allowing them to feel the comfort of the maternal presence of the Blessed Virgin.
