Thomism and Topicality
In commemoration of the 750 years since the death of St. Thomas Aquinas, the Heralds of the Gospel have once again hosted a Thomistic congress, under the theme Thomism and Topicality, from August 5 to 7. Held on the institutionâs premises in Caieiras (SP), the event included lectures, workshops and the daily celebration of Holy Mass.
The speakers included: Most Rev. Benedito Beni dos Santos, Bishop Emeritus of Lorena; Fr. Felipe Ramos, EP; Dr. Joel Gracioso; Fr. Marcos Faes, EP; Fr. Leonardo Miguel Barraza, EP; Fr. Carlos Adriano Santos, EP; and Fr. Carlos Javier Werner, EP.
United by the Same Ideal
More than 1,600 collaborators of the Heralds of the Gospel, coming from various countries, gathered in Caieiras, SĂŁo Paulo, from July 19 to 28, for their 19th International Congress, divided into two groups. The central theme of the encounter was the explications made by Dr. Plinio CorrĂȘa de Oliveira in his masterpiece Revolution and Counter-Revolution.
The morning activities began with Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, followed by a processional Rosary to the auditorium, where the lectures were held â some of which were illustrated with theatrical sketches â and the study circles. After some pleasant conviviality during the lunch interval, the cooperators enjoyed another exposition, ending the day with Holy Mass celebrated in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Heralds at ExpoCatĂłlica

n July 7, the choir and orchestra of seminarians from the Heralds of the Gospel organized a procession with the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary through the corridors of ExpoCatĂłlica, followed by a musical presentation.
Additionally, there was a talk by Fr. Ricardo José Basso, EP, and vibrant discussions on the Salve Maria podcast.
Over the four days of the exhibition, the institutionâs kiosks welcomed numerous visitors and friends.
Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul) â To aid the population of Rio Grande do Sul in the wake of floods that devastated the state, the Heralds of the Gospel organized the SOS Rio Grande do Sul Campaign. On June 27, the donations collected were delivered at the archdiocesan Caritas of the capital, to Most Rev. Odair Miguel Gonsalves dos Santos, CM, Auxiliary Bishop of Porto Alegre. During the month of July, the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary toured the city of MiraguaĂ, visiting homes as well as public and commercial establishments.
Paraguay â On August 6, the Heralds of the Gospel joined the faithful of the Paraguayan capital for the opening of the novena in honour of their Patroness, Our Lady of the Assumption. Starting from the National Pantheon of the Heroes, the procession headed to the metropolitan cathedral, where Most Rev. Roberto Carlos ZacarĂas LĂłpez, Bishop of CanindeyĂș, presided over the solemn Eucharistic Celebration.
Mozambique â On June 29, members of the Heralds residing in Maputo took active part in the Mass and the naval procession, in Catembe, hosted by the Goan community of Mozambique. The Eucharist was presided over by Most. Rev. Anil Joseph Thomas Couto, Archbishop of Delhi, and concelebrated by Most Rev. OsĂłrio Citora Afonso, IMC, Auxiliary Bishop of Maputo, and several priests, including ten priests from India.
Spain â On July 16, feast of Our Lady of Carmel, the Heralds of the Gospel organized the celebration of a Holy Mass in the Collegiate Church of San Isidro, in Madrid, with imposition of the scapular.
