To Jesus, through Mary
The month of February was marked by special Marian blessings for several groups of Spanish-speaking faithful who made their consecration as slaves of love to Jesus, through the hands of Mary, culminating the course offered by the Reconquest Catholic Formation Platform. The ceremonies took place in Madrid, Seville and Malaga, Spain; in Toronto, Canada; in Losa Angeles, Miami and Garden Grove, United States; in San José, Heredia and Cartago, Costa Rica; in San Salvador and Santa Ana, El Salvador; in Medellin and Tocancipá, Colombia; in Quito and Cuenca, Ecuador; in Lima and Cuzco, Peru; in Asunción and Ypacaraí, Paraguay; as well as in the following capitals: Mexico City, Guatemala City, Santo Domingo, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires and Montevideo.
Ponta Grossa (Brazil) – Another blessed “Afternoon with Mary” was held at the house of the Heralds of the Gospel in the city of Ponta Grossa, Paraná State. The programme began with the solemn crowning of the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, followed by a talk given by Fr. Ricardo José Basso, EP. The event was concluded with the celebration of a Holy Mass.
United States – From February 10 to 16, members of the Heralds of the Gospel carried out an extensive Marian mission in the area of Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. Daily Mass was celebrated, along with confessions, lectures, moments of prayer and visits by the Pilgrim Statue of the Immaculate Heart of Mary to homes. The mission concluded with three Sunday Masses, celebrated in English, Spanish and Vietnamese.
Paraguay – Between February 12 and 16, Herald priests dedicated themselves to serving the elderly and sick of the Parish of St. Liberata, in the city of Villarica, administering the Sacraments of Confession and the Anointing of the Sick. Each day of the mission ended with an instructional talk and the celebration of Holy Mass in the chapel of the community that had been visited. Earlier, on February 2, the Heralds participated in a Mass in honour of the Patroness at the Parish of Our Lady of Candelaria, in Capiatá.
Spain – Cooperators of the Heralds of the Gospel gathered on February 22 and 23 at the house of the institution located in Toledo for the 7th National Meeting. In addition to lectures and moments of common prayer, there was also time for participants to enjoy plenty of agreeable conviviality.
Costa Rica e El Salvador – On the occasion of the anniversary of the Heralds of the Gospel’s pontifical approval, on February 22, cooperators from Costa Rica and El Salvador renewed their commitments as members of the institution. In the same month, the cooperators from Costa Rica participated in a retreat preached by Fr. Leonardo Barraza, EP.
