Our Lady did not refrain from showering her Divine Son with the greatest displays of tenderness and affection. The Child, in turn, would interrupt Her to give her a kiss on the cheek or a caress.

Other times, to please her little Son, Our Lady would sing songs composed on the spur of the moment. The Child Jesus would stretch out His arms and smile, delighted with the affection of the one He had created to be the Mother of all mothers.

The Divine Infant wanted to be pervaded with Our Lady’s sweetness so that later, when preaching, He could transmit to men that luminosity which He had contemplated in Her, as a perfect reflection of the uncreated Goodness.
